- Nigeria’s Victor Boniface scored a late equaliser for Bayer Leverkusen in a crucial match against Borussia Dortmund on Sunday.
The clash at the BayArena proves to be a setback in Leverkusen’s Bundesliga title race, as it gives Bayern Munich the opportunity to lay claims of the top spot in the league table.

Despite Leverkusen dominating the game, an early strike from Julian Ryerson put Dortmund in the lead.
The first half saw a one-way traffic, with Leverkusen’s efforts thwarted, including a disallowed goal by Florian Wirtz.
In the second half, Leverkusen continued to press for an equalizer, with Dortmund’s defense, led by Mats Hummels, holding firm.
However, with just ten minutes left, Boniface’s tap-in secured a draw for the hosts, preserving their unbeaten run since start of the season, while also allowing Bayern Munich a chance to catch up in the title race.
