Victor Boniface redeemed himself by scoring the decisive goal in Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.
The goal comes after the Nigerian striker missed an early penalty in the first-half.
Eintracht Frankfurt took advantage of Boniface’s missed spot-kick when Omar Marmoush scored from the penalty spot in the 16th minute, putting the visitors ahead.
However, Bayer Leverkusen responded before halftime, with Robert Andrich equalizing to send the teams into the break level.
In the second half, Leverkusen came out stronger, and Boniface made amends for his earlier miss by netting the match-winner.
Despite their solid start, Frankfurt will feel this was a missed opportunity to take points from the high-flying Leverkusen.
