In a recent update for Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 9, the show’s organizers revealed major rule changes, including the elimination of the Custodian Challenge and the HOH vote.
During Sunday’s live broadcast, host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu delivered the following developments. The Custodian Challenge and Head of House (HOH) poll were originally established to bring additional wrinkles to the season.
Custodians had the ability to influence evictions and the HOH ballot, and they were immune from eviction themselves. However, these functionalities have now been deleted.
In reaction to these changes, the post of Head of House has been reinstated, including immunity. Nonetheless, the HOH’s previously provided “save and replace” ability has been removed.
Additionally, housemates will no longer be able to vote for the elimination of the bottom four pairings.
The amended rules require housemates to nominate pairings for elimination. Viewer voting will ultimately decide which pairings are eliminated.
