Transfer news expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on his official X account on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. According to him, Barcelona and RB Leipzig reached a verbal agreement for the Spanish international for a fee set to be around $60 million fixed plus $7.6 million in add-ons which is based on the performance of the player.
Leipzig always made it clear that they would not stand in the way of Dani Olmo should he express a desire to leave the Catalonia giants. He broke into the limelight in the Bundesliga in 2020, and was considered as one of the best players in the league.
He is keen on returning to Barcelona and has agreed a six-year deal until 2030, having previously left the club as a teenager.
Olmo has been Barca’s top transfer target this summer alongside Nico Williams, both of whom formed an integral part of Spain’s success at the Euro 2024. The youngster will be joining Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Fermin Lopez and Ferran Torres who are already at the club.
