Barcelona’s statement on Lewandowski and Yamal injury

Barcelona Football Club have released an official statement on the injury situation of Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski.

Lamine Yamal suffered the injury before the game while Robert Lewandowski picked up an injury during the defeat against Real Sociedad in the league on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the Reale Arena, a stadium where they hadn’t lost on any of their previous eight visits. According to the statement released on the club’s official X account, both players will be out for at least weeks.

What did Barcelona say about the injury to Lewandowski and Yamal?

The club confirmed in an official statement that tests have been carried out on both players.

It said,

“Tests this morning confirmed that first team player Lamine Yamal has a grade 1 high right ankle sprain. He is expected to be out for two to three weeks. Robert Lewandowski has suffered a lower back injury. He will be out of action for approximately 10 days.”

However, the good news for Barcelona supporters is that there is an international break which means they will be close to returning from injury before their next League game.

The result reduces Barcelona lead at the top of the league from nine points to six points.
