Awaziem Turned Down Lucrative Offers To Join Us – Hadjuk Split

HNK Hadjuk Split sporting director, Mindaugas Nikolicius has revealed that defender, Chidozie Awaziem shunned lucrative deals from other clubs in Europe to move to the club.

Awaziem will spend the 2022/23 campaign with the former Croatian champions after agreeing a season-long deal with the club.

Hadjuk Split have the option to make the move permanent.

”From the first contact with him, we felt that he was interested in coming to Hajduk because he wants to fight for trophies,” Nikolicius told the club’s official website.

“He turned down many significantly more lucrative offers precisely because of this and thus proved that he puts football development, the desire to progress and play at a high level before money.

“I am of the opinion that the qualities he possesses will improve our team,” he added.

Awaziem spent last season on loan at Turkish Super Lig side, Alanyaspor.

The 25-year-old has also previously played for Porto, Caykur Rizespor, and Nantes.
