Arsenal have had a third deadline day bid for Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz rejected, 90min understands.
The Gunners submitted an offer of £25m plus add-ons for the Brazil international.
Villa have already knocked back two bids from Arsenal already in the last few hours, but the north London side were determined to complete a swoop before the 11pm deadline.
However, Arsenal have now decided to end their pursuit in the midfielder for the time being.
Luiz scored against Arsenal in Villa’s 2-1 loss at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening, grabbing an equaliser directly from a corner before Gabriel Martinelli scored the winner for the hosts.
