Arne Slot began his tenure as Liverpool manager on a positive note with a 2-0 win over Ipswich Town on Saturday.
Second-half goals from Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah were enough to pick the deserved win against the newly promoted side.
The match, played at Portman Road, saw Ipswich initially hold their own against the Premier League giants.
Ipswich created several opportunities but failed to capitalize on any.
After a goalless first half, Liverpool emerged stronger in the second period.
Jota broke the deadlock on the hour mark. Just five minutes later, Salah finished off a well-executed team move, doubling Liverpool’s lead, ending Ipswich’s hopes of a comeback.
Despite having additional chances to extend the lead, Liverpool’s two goals were enough to ensure a comfortable victory.
