The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the date and time to officially unveil Senator Kashim Shettima as the party’s vice presidential candidate for the 2023 election.
The APC in a terse statement released on Tuesday morning noted that Shettima will be unveiled on Wednesday, 20th July by 11 am at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
The statement reads:
“The APC will formally unveil its Vice Presidential Candidate, Sen. Kashim Shettima to the Nigerian public on:
Date: Wednesday, 20 July, 2022
Venue: Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja
Time: 11am Prompt.
Naijaloaded had earlier reported that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has picked a date to present his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima to the party’s leadership.
This news outlet reported that except for any last-minute change that may happen, Tinubu will officially present Shettima to the APC National Working Committee (NWC) and its National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu on Wednesday, 20th July.
It will be recalled Tinubu on Sunday, July 4, in Daura Katsina State during a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari, unveiled former Borno State Governor, Shettima as his running mate.
The unveiling automatically means the APC will be fielding a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 presidential election – a development that has attracted widespread criticism from Nigerians.
The official unveiling was to have been done last week but was postponed by the party.
