According to him, he has healed to an extend that he is not worried and will be happy for the her if she finds a lifetime partner
According to him, Kawira is however currently idle and that’s why she is all over social media talking about their failed marriage while painting him negatively.
“Stories hucome people talk, ooh sijui msee ulisaidia kwa life ndio siku hizi anadate your wife. To me its okay hata nikiskia anadate my own brother its okay. Si ako solo na mimi niko solo. Nayeye akiskia niko na mtu afurahie. Hizo drama za kuweweka vitu kwa mtandao aache sasa aolewe, when she gets married she would be busy. It is because she doesn’t have someone, she is idle a good man needs to look for her when she gets married she would be busy, to me am healed,” the musician said during an interview with presenter Ali.
The decision to let her go completely and forgive her came after he nearly died due to depression after their failed marriage.
Ephantus said that trouble in their marriage began when they their got their children and his mother in-law came to live with them.
“I believe when the kids came challenges zilianza because yeye on her part akasema she only trusts her mother with kids. We had to bring her mother akacome kukaa na sisi and issues began because in Kikuyu culture mother in-laws hawakai na son in-laws, ni kutembea tu na kuenda, issues zikaanza kucome up, hatuelewani, tukakaa, then later we had an agreement mum goes and we support her from outside,” he recounted.
Depression first creeped in after Kawira decided to leave him, taking away their twins, whom he was so much attached to, although they had not argued prior to her decision.
He tried reaching to her but all his efforts were futile. This saw him turn to alcohol. After some time, he realized that that was not the best way for him to follow. He decided to seek professional help and that saw him go through therapy and dieting.
“Nikaanza kuheal but stilll after nimemamliza sikuheal completely still nilikuwa bitter then hapo ndio ikakuja ikanigonga mara moja. Akaanza ku upload vitu social media, kufanya interviews on various blogs hio ndio ilinhit. Unasoma comments and people are judging you kitu hawajui,” Ephantus said.
At that point he depression hit him hard to a point of near death.
“Nlikujiwa home na ambulance, I was dying,” he said adding that attempts to reach Kawira while on his deathbed were not successful yet again.
After making out of the incident alive, he decided to let go of everything.
“When I came out of that bed, that was the time I made a decision, I will not continue depressing myself again, I want to start a fresh life, because ningekufga, those kids hawengawahiniona, huyu exwife mwenye I want to make it up with her maybe hata burial yangu hangeattend juu hata nimemwambia nadead na all this… I decided to let her be and from that moment to date, mimi huwanga nimrelease kabisa, namwombea Mungu ambless, ambless with a good husband,” he said.
He also said that he used to fulfil his fatherly duties despite having a strained relationship with his baby mama.
