Manchester United winger Antony has been cleared of domestic violence allegations by Brazilian police.
This comes after a year-long investigation, following the allegations made by his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin, who accused Antony of “domestic violence, threat, and bodily injury”.
The claims led to police reports being filed both in Brazil and England.
Despite these accusations, Antony consistently maintained his innocence.
He even gave an emotional interview on live television, where he strongly denied any wrongdoing, expressing confidence that the truth would eventually come to light.
During the investigation, Antony took a leave of absence from Manchester United, missing three Premier League matches at the start of the 2023/24 season.
The case, which was processed under confidentiality, concluded without an indictment due to insufficient evidence.
In a statement captured by talkSPORT, Antony’s legal team confirmed that the investigation had been closed.
The Brazilian Public Security Secretariat also noted that further details would only be available through the courts due to the confidential nature of the case.
