Alvarez sealed the win for City with a close-range tap-in shortly after the hour mark, extending City’s lead.

The victory extends Manchester City’s unbeaten streak to seven games, pushing them into third place in the table, just two points behind the league leaders, Liverpool.

On the other hand, Sheffield United’s struggles away from home continue, as they remain at the bottom of the table, seven points away from safety.
