Speaking to entertainment journalists, Alikiba clarified that their competition is strictly business and there is no ongoing conflict between them.
Addressing questions about his younger brother, Abdukiba, who has been seen building a close relationship with Diamond’s camp, particularly with Mbosso from WCB Wasafi, Alikiba downplayed any notion of tension.
“Seeing Abdukiba and Mbosso together has nothing to do with my approval. We don’t have a personal fight. It’s just the nature of our work, and when our projects compete, that’s when the challenge comes in,” Alikiba explained.
The Tanzanian music star also mentioned that Abdukiba and Mbosso have been long-time friends, even before Mbosso joined WCB Wasafi. He emphasized that their friendship is not tied to any rivalry between the two labels.
“What I know about Abdukiba and Mbosso is that they have been friends for a long time. As for working together, I bless any good work that comes from my artists. I only care that it’s good work that will make money, that’s what matters,” Alikiba added.
Without naming Diamond directly, Alikiba hinted that their supposed animosity might be exaggerated on social media, hinting that their public rivalry may not be as deep as it appears.
“Why are we only talking amongst ourselves, or are we deceiving you? Is there something you don’t know?” Alikiba said, leaving fans and the media to wonder if the long-running narrative of a fierce rivalry between the two might be more of an industry show than a personal vendetta.
