Danny Ali – 6Ix New Album Download
With his latest album, 24-year-old rapper/producer Danny Ali stakes his claim as one of the best new artists in the game. On 6IX!, the California native pens a note to his hometown that’s full of pride, anxiety, and fulfillment. The title of the album derives from the area code of the South Bay Area in California – 650 – of which Danny has branded “Six5ive”. Laced throughout the album is a narrative of maturity and innocence, and the tone of the album is set right away with the intro track “6ix”. It starts with a simple message “Home is where the heart lives.” Sample chops of Brent Faiyaz’ “Make It Out” are accompanied by hard hitting drums and a reassuring hook: “I’m gon be alright” reminiscent of Kendrick Lamar’s 2015 single.
On PROBLEMS, Danny and Infamous Taz – who also serves as the narrator- both deliver verses that can captivate arenas. Danny taps King Mar$ for a guest verse on both DON’T BLINK and 5IVE; two songs that adopt a spacious, otherworldly atmosphere with cutting vocals. The standout track is easily the sonnet-turned-R&B ballad BAD RELIGION featuring Kola and Celiana. Every vocal melody and every placement on the song sounds like it was done with purpose.
Detailing his current feelings of his hometown and reflecting on the recent years, Danny delivers arguably his most potent verses to date on this sample-laden record. Involved in the production process of this masterpiece, includes producers; BRZA, Fadi, LUCASQUINN, Don Pablo, Prod. By June, Tylur, and Vitals.
