Albert Pujols had himself quite a day on Sunday.
The slugger hit two home runs and ultimately was the hero as the St. Louis Cardinals took two out of three from their NL Central rivals, the Milwaukee Brewers.
In the second inning, Pujols blasted home run No. 688 off of left-hander Aaron Ashby.
In the bottom of the eighth, St. Louis led by a score of 3-2 and had two runners on when Pujols hit No. 689, which ultimately proved to be the difference in the game.
With that home run, Pujols tied Willie Mays for fifth all-time in multi-homer games.
He also became the third player to have at least two multi-homer games at age 42, joining Barry Bonds and Carlton Fisk.

Pujols Joins Legendary Company
Pujols still has it.
He’s not done just yet.
He may be 42 and well past his prime, but you still can’t make a mistake to him.
Give him an inch, he’ll hit it a mile.
He still knows how to crush the baseball and hit some mammoth home runs.
Even in his advanced age, Pujols has remained one of the most lethal hitters in the game.
But to tie Mays and join a club that features names such as Bonds and Fisk is impressive, and it goes to show just how legendary Pujols truly is.
This man has 63 multi-homer games over the course of his career.
Now he’s just 11 homers away from reaching 700.
Just seven more and he’ll tie Alex Rodriguez for fourth on the all-time homer list.
Pujols is saving his best for last this year and is poised to help the Cardinals make another run at a World Series title before he retires.
