Actress Naliaka Says She Never Used To Shower After Papa Shirandula’s Death

Actress Daisy Odeko, who used to play the role of Naliaka in Papa Shirandula TV series, has revealed that she was very close with the veteran actor even off-screen.

Naliaka was overwhelmed with emotions as she remembered Papa, whose real name is Charles Bukeko.

According to her the late Papa Shirandula took her on a date to counsel her about relationship and marriage, when she told him that she wanted to get married.

“I told him I was now ready for marriage and he was like, no you are still a baby. I was around 26 then. He played a very big role in my life. He used to ask me very difficult questions and I used to be very comfortable with him. We would talk about anything and everything. When I had serious questions about life I would talk to him. I really trusted him,” she said.

She added that his death was a shock to her as she didn’t see it coming. At the time the time they had a project underway and she was pregnant.

“I couldn’t sleep at night. I used to spend a lot of time crying. We were very close. He was like my father; Not my biological father but he was such a strong father figure that I really trusted apart from my biological father,” she said.

The mother of two added that during the mourning period, she never used to shower.

“People mourn differently, I never used to shower. I would just lock myself in the room, I cry and then when my husband tells me he is about to get home, that’s when I ran to the bathroom,” she said.

Naliaka was unable to attend Papa Shirandula’s burial as she was pregnant and at the time Covid had hit the country..

She is currently married and she became a pastor after her life on screen. She is also a social media influencer and social media trainer.
