An employer in Abuja has sparked outrage online after advertising a house help position that requires an international passport and offers a monthly salary of just ₦17,000.
The post, which has gone viral on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), details the job listing for a house help in Gwarimpa Estate, Abuja.
The employer is seeking someone who not only has a valid international passport but is also willing to travel frequently with the children.
Despite these demanding requirements, the salary is set at ₦17,000 per month, equating to ₦215,000 annually.
The individual who shared the post on X clarified that she wasn’t the one hiring but was shocked by the job listing and wanted others to see it too.
She wrote, “I’m not the one hiring, but as shocked as you are, I thought I’d share it so others don’t miss out on the surprise.”
As the post gained traction, concerned social media users flooded the comment section, expressing their thoughts on the controversial job offer.
