Abducted Benue commissioner regains freedom from captors

In the early hours of Thursday, Mathew Abo, the kidnapped Benue State Commissioner of Information, Culture, and Tourism, was set free by captor.

At around 1:00am, Abo, who was kidnapped by armed men who broke into his Zaki-Biam home on Sunday, was believed to have been reunited with his family.

No information about whether a ransom was paid before his release was provided by a family source.

As of the time this story was filed, Catherine Anene, a spokesman for the state police command, could not be reached.
