Interim coach of the Super Eagles, Augustine Eguavoen, has revealed his side’s game plan against Guinea-Bissau ahead of both sides’ 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) clash on Wednesday.
Eguavoen said the Super Eagles would approach the Guinea-Bissau match with equal enthusiasm as they have done in their first two games against Egypt and Sudan.
Super Eagles face Guinea Bissau on Wednesday night, having qualified for the 2021 AFCON round of 16 after defeating Egypt 1-0 and Sudan 3-1.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Eguavoen said,
“We are not going to get our foot off the pedal as we will approach the match [against Guinea-Bissau] with equal enthusiasm as we have done in our first two matches.”
He added,
“I remember, we finished tops with maximum points in Egypt (2019 AFCON). It’s good to qualify for the round of 16, and we want to do that in style.”
The kick-off time for Guinea-Bissau vs Nigeria is 8 pm.
