Members of Oyo State House of Assembly, on Tuesday, passed the State’s appropriation bill 2022 into law.
The 2022 appropriation bill passed by the House is to the tune of N294,704,585,356,94 (Two Hundred and Ninety-Four Billion, Seven Hundred and Four Million, Five Hundred and Eighty-Five Thousand, Three Hundred and Fifty-Six Naira and Ninety-Four Kobo.
reports that the budget was passed at the plenary presided over by the Speaker of the Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, sequel to the reports of the House Committee on Public Account, Finance and Appropriation.
A sum of N139,526,448,385,94 (One Hundred and Thirty-Nine Billion, Five Hundred and Twenty-Six Million, Four Hundred and Forty-Eight Thousand, Three Hundred and Eighty-Five Naira and Ninety-Four kobo) was approved as recurrent expenditure.
On the other hand, a total of #155,178,136,971,00 (One Hundred and Fifty-Five Billion, One Hundred and Seventy-Eight Million, One Hundred and Thirty-six Thousand, Nine Hundred and Seventy-One Naira only was approved as capital expenditure
Speaker of the Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin in his remarks, said the House would do everything in its constitutional power to monitor the implementation of the 2022 budget.
He expressed optimism that the budget tagged “Budget of Growth and Opportunities” would bring about the much desired growth and development in the State.
