Millions of Nigerians will miss President Muhammadu Buhari at the end of his administration in 2023, former Minister of Education, Yerima Abdullahi, has said.
Speaking during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Abdullahi explained that Nigerians would miss Buhari because he is a man of integrity and has done well for Nigeria.
He said leaders like Buhari are rare, and noted that most Nigerian leaders lacked the leadership qualities Buhari possessed, especially his hard stand against corruption and his exemplary lifestyle.
According to Abdullahi:
“Buhari will be missed after 2023, and there are millions of Nigerians who will because when he says it is white, it is white.
Like him or not, you have to accept that Buhari has really done well for the country and has been through a lot to serve the nation.
You don’t have so many of such leaders in the country. He is not a ‘Maradona’, he is not. He says things the way they are. It is very rare you find a leader with such courage.”
