Gareth Southgate Or The Players – Who Is Really To Be Blamed For England’s Terrible Loss At Euro 2020 Final?

England’s hope to win Euro 2020 got dashed today as they couldn’t beat Italy in the finals.
Luke Shaw’s early goal for England didn’t count as Italy returned in the second half to equalize with a superb goal from Leonardo Bonucci.

The English team led by Garett Southgate has been impressive from the beginning of the tournament and there was so much confidence all over England that the trophy is coming HOME but alas, the trophy went to ROME.

Who Really To Be Blamed For This England Terrible Loss?

The England team really performed below expectations tonight but they actually had the chance of winning if only everyone involved did their job well.

If we are to point blaming fingers, it has to be directed to either England’s coach, Gareth Southgate, or all the England players that were on the pitch today.

Gareth Southgate Flaws

Gareth Southgate seems not to be in the right frame of mind or some real confusion sets in for him.

The decision not to start Grealish didn’t sit well with many England fans because he is actually England’s best player in the tournament, why bench him in the finals.

After the first half, there were obviously so many underperforming players on the pitch and the best Southgate could do was to make a pointless late sub.

It’s really disheartening but overall Southgate has done a lot for the England team since he took charge and hopefully he’d land a major trophy for the country soon.

This should be a lesson learnt for him.

The England Player’s Awful Performance

Italy dominated England in the Euro2020 finals. Going by the performances of the English players tonight, it’s almost like they don’t deserve to win after all.

This is a trophy that will boost England’s pride if won but the passion to win was not really displayed on the pitch until after the penalty shootout when some players were crying.

Italy dominated in ball possession and even had more shots on target than England.

Harry Kane was awful on the pitch, so was Mason Mount. Marcus Rashford and Sancho weren’t the super subs as expected.
