Liverpool’s Arne Slot reveals key injuries ahead of crucial fixtures

Liverpool’s manager Arne Slot in his latest conference has opened up that his side would be without two key players in his latest injury update.

Reports indicates that Liverpool manager Arne Slot has revealed that Liverpool will not be with 2 of their key players as he has revealed the extent of the players injury. The head coach opened up that side side would be without both Diogo Jota and Joe Gomez for the next fixtures.

Diogo Jota’s absence from the squad against Brentford was due to an issue he picked up after the draw against Nottingham Forest, and it’s looking like he’ll be out for a matter of weeks. As for Joe Gomez, he’s still recovering from a hamstring problem that’s kept him sidelined since the end of 2024.

It’s a shame, because both players are crucial to the team’s success, but hopefully, they’ll be back in action soon. Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, has provided an update on their injuries, and it seems like the team will have to make do without them for a little while longer.

What did Arne Slot say about Diogo Jota’s injury?

Speaking at the pre-match Arnie Slot stated, “Maybe Jota [will be back] a bit earlier than Joe. Both of them are expected to be back with us in weeks rather than months,” he said at a press conference. “But I’ve said many times before that the last stage of rehab is the most difficult one, or the one that sometimes [can] add a few days or not. It’s clear that we are expecting them to be back with us in the upcoming weeks. It is always difficult to say exactly how long it is. Both of them are not going to be out for months, that’s for sure, as long as the rehab goes as planned”.

When is Liverpool’s next fixture?

Liverpool is set to face Lille in the Champions League on Tuesday, and it’s going to be a tough match without Diogo Jota and Joe Gomez. The team will have to rely on other players to step up and fill the gap. After the Lille match, they’ll head into a Premier League clash against Ipswich, which will be another challenging game.

The Champions League match against Lille is scheduled to take place at Anfield, with the kickoff time set for 8:00 pm. The referee for the match will be Felix Zwayer, and the assistant referees will be Robert Kempter and Christian Dietz.
