Thomas Tuchel has successfully recruited Chelsea goalkeeping coach Hilario to join his backroom staff for the England national team.
The move marks Tuchel’s first major coaching addition ahead of officially taking charge on January 1.
According to The Telegraph, Hilario, who has been with Chelsea for 18 years, resigned after the club declined his request to split duties between the Blues and England.
He now joins assistant coach Anthony Barry and performance analyst James Melbourne on Tuchel’s Three Lions staff.
Hilario first joined Chelsea as a player in 2006, making 39 appearances before retiring in 2014.
He later returned as an assistant goalkeeping coach under Antonio Conte and was promoted by Maurizio Sarri in 2018.
