Chelsea’s rising star Cole Palmer delivered an impressive performance to lead his team to a 2-1 victory over Newcastle at Stamford Bridge.
Palmer played a crucial role in both Chelsea goals, showing creativity even under pressure.
Early in the game, Palmer’s exceptional through ball found Pedro Neto, who surged past Newcastle’s Fabian Schar before setting up Nicolas Jackson for the opening goal.
Newcastle fought back as Alexander Isak scored before halftime to level the score.
However, Palmer responded with a goal of his own shortly after the break.
Following a Chelsea counter-attack, he broke free on the left and skillfully beat Newcastle’s goalkeeper Nick Pope at the near post to restore Chelsea’s lead.
