Jose Mourinho who currently manages the Turkish side, Fenerbahce when asked about the latest player acquisition of their arch-rivals Galatasaray, Victor Osimhen spoke about what he categorizes as a problem he believes the Nigerian has.
Jose Mourinho’s familiarity with Victor Osimhen dates back to their time in Serie A, where the Portuguese manager had actively managed AS Roma and the Nigerian striker excelled at Napoli.
Their paths are set to cross again, as Osimhen has opted to join a Turkish club this summer, following the collapse of his proposed transfers to Chelsea and Al-Ahli.
Jose Mourinho has praised Victor Osimhen’s abilities but also expressed frustration with the Nigerian striker’s particular behaviour that he’s encountered in their past matches.
Jose in his interview stated, “He’s an incredible talent. Galatasaray have secured a fantastic player. I’ve never had an issue with him personally, but there’s one thing about him that irritates me when he’s on the opposing team. During one of our Roma-Napoli encounters, I took the time to speak with him. I told him, ‘You and Salah” are currently the best African players, following in the footsteps of legends like Drogba, Eto’o, and Weah. But you cannot continue to play the way you do.’ He tends to go down too easily, and that’s where my problem lies”.
