Arsenal FC’s head coach Mikel Arteta has addressed the topic of Gabriel Jesus as well as the possibility of him remaining at the club.

Following a challenging 2023-2024 season marked by injuries and limited playing time, there has been speculation about Gabriel Jesus’s future at Arsenal.

However, in an interview, Mikel Arteta dispelled these rumours, emphasizing Jesus’s importance to Arsenal as a whole ahead of the new season.

When asked about Gabriel Jesus, Arteta responded: “When I saw him this summer, I could sense something different. The energy from Gabriel was different. The way he looks, the way he moves—he looks good!”

Arteta holds Jesus in high regard for his versatility, work ethic, and tactical flexibility. Jesus himself has expressed his determination to stay fit and participate fully in the pre-season, believing it will significantly enhance his performance.

Gabriel Jesus’ 2023/24 Season at Arsenal

The 2023-2024 season was a tough one for Gabriel Jesus, as he faced numerous challenges and setbacks. Injuries were his biggest obstacle, with a hamstring injury in October causing him to miss several weeks early in the season.

These injuries disrupted his ability to play consistently and reach his peak performance. Despite showing moments of brilliance with key goals and assists, his overall contributions were hampered by his ongoing fitness issues.

His absence in the attack was a significant blow, not only to him but also to the team. Even after returning to the squad, Jesus had to work hard to regain full match fitness and consistency, making it a season-long struggle.
