Rema, a well-known Nigerian artist, has made history with his popular song “Calm Down” by being the first African song to reach 1 billion on-demand streams in the United States.
According to Chart Data, a music statistics company in the US, “Calm Down” has achieved this milestone.
The remix of “Calm Down” featuring Selena Gomez also hit the billion-stream mark on Spotify in August 2023.
Guinness World Records recognized the original version of “Calm Down” as the first number-one song on the MENA regional streaming chart.
