Grammy-nominated artist Davido Adeleke, also known as Davido, has publicly asserted that his family is in charge of distributing electricity to many Nigerians.
Davido revealed this during an interview on the American podcast ‘Business Untitled.’
Davido discussed his family business, personal investments, and aspirations to open a restaurant with his wife, Chioma.
According to the ‘Unavailable’ singer, his family owns four power plants that make major contributions to Nigeria’s electricity supply.
He said, “I once tried to go into cryptocurrency because Nigeria is big on crypto. Apart from that, me and my family have like four power plants worth a lot of money. We distribute energy to most of Nigeria.
“My wife is into culinary. We are trying to start a restaurant for her. But my main business is what I love; my music.”
Davido criticises Afrobeats and reveals his music genre.
Meanwhile, Davido has ditched the ‘Afrobeats’ musical genre.
During an interview on the most recent episode of the Business Untitled Podcast, he decried the ‘boxing’ of all African artists within the Afrobeats genre, regardless of their musical styles.
However, he is not offended when everyone is classified under such a category; instead, he chooses to refer to his musical style as ‘Afrofusion’.
