Information reaching hitztv.com.ng has it that CODE PINK and Marjorie Taylor Greene have joined forces after taking pictures with volunteers on the hill.
Taking to social media, Code Pink wrote: “There has been some confusion about an image that was taken w/ CODEPINK volunteers & Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green. MTG opportunistically approached our volunteers in a parking lot on the Hill and she requested they take a photo together (1/4).
our volunteers weren’t sure how to respond & immediately reached out to us about what happened after the fact. This picture was not initiated by our organization. (2/4).
Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene shocked the internet on Wednesday when she shared a photo of herself with volunteers from Code Pink, an anti-war organization.
Greene, who recently explained why she only supports Donald Trump for president, posted several photos on social media earlier Wednesday.
“The war in Ukraine must END! Today, I met brave @codepink activists who protested for peace in Bernie Sanders’ office,” Greene said. “He had 11 of them arrested! Peace & free speech shouldn’t be a partisan issue. We don’t agree on most things, but we do agree Congress should STOP fueling the war in Ukraine!”
Nick Dyer, the congresswoman’s communications director, told the Guardian in an email that the $495 Overland coat – made with alpaca wool and fur trim – was meant to “highlight” the president’s lack of comment on the balloon during his State of the Union speech. “Biden refused to mention it, just like he refused to stop the intelligence-gathering operation that traversed the United States and surveilled some of our most important military facilities in the country,” Dyer said.
Greene purchased the piece in Wyoming, Dyer said, while campaigning against Liz Cheney and fundraising for Harriet Hageman, who is now a US representative for the state.
Political Twitter had its own feelings about what the coat represented. “I dunno why but Marjorie Taylor Greene in that white coat screaming at Biden gave me a powerful ‘Russian Karen vibe’,” tweeted Politico Europe journalist Nika Melkozerova.
