Ghana, who lost their opening group game 3-2 to Portugal, led 2-0 at halftime courtesy of goals from Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu and Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus.
Two stunning headers in three minutes from Cho Gue-sung, a top-scorer in his domestic league, leveled the game after 61 minutes.
Kudus’ low left-footed goal in the 68th minute sailed out of the reach of goalkeeper Kim Seung-Gyu to put the Black Stars in the lead again in a heart-stopping contest.
Goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi preserved Ghana’s victory despite several attempts by the Koreans before full time.
Ghana, who are now second in Group H after picking up 3 points from the match against the Asian team, will face Uruguay in their last group game while South Korea will have a showdown with Portugal.
