Media personality and Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has debunked claims of being an agent of the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
Sowore dispelled the rumor while speaking at a town hall meeting alongside three other candidates on Sunday, November 13.
At the town hall meeting organized by Arise TV in collaboration with the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), the presidential candidate was asked by a member of the audience if he was a CIA agent.
Responding to the question, Sowore said if he was indeed a CIA agent, his arrest by DSS operatives in Lagos on 3 August 2019, would have led to the “disappearance” of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He also said that he has not accepted US citizenship even though he has lived in the country for over 20 years.
Sowore said;
“I am not a CIA agent, if I was, Buhari would have disappeared from the surface of the earth when he detained me. You cannot do that with CIA agent. I am a Nigerian, I have not even accepted a US citizenship and I have lived there for 20 years.”
