Nigerian singer, Harrison Okiri popularly known as Harrysong, has made a U-turn on assassination claims against music executive, Soso Soberekon.
Also known as Mr Songz, the singer earlier accused Soso Soberekon of hiring assassins against him during an interview on the Frankly Speaking podcast partly hosted by comedian, Nedu Wazobia. He said in the episode which aired last week:
“If you see Soso now you’ll say Soso na my friend. Soso is not my friend, Soso is my enemy. He sent people to come and kill me in Port Harcourt, no jokes. Ask my team, ask everyone,”
However, the singer recanted his statement in a video posted via his Instagram page on Saturday. He also assured fans that he is now on good terms with the music executive. Harrysong said:
“About the video that was trending last week that some group of boys made an attempt on my life, yes it was true. It was a group of boys that were misled, I now have clarity, it wasn’t Soso who sent them.
“I and Soso are good now, so guys thanks to everyone that reached out.”
Harrysong’s new statement comes after his arrest by the Nigerian Police on Tuesday. The singer was picked up from the airport after landing in Lagos and taken into custody.
