Zuchu Becomes First Female East African Artiste To Be Nominated For Coveted MTV EMA Award 

Zuchu faces the difficult but not impossible task of defeating Nigerian music heavyweights pitted against for MTV European Music Awards (EMA).

The Bongo songbird has been nominated for the MTV EMA awards under the category of Best African Act.

“Tanzania stand up your girl is nominated on the @mtvema God is good niseme asante ni kwa sababu yenu ndo mimi niko hapo nawapenda sana .I’m coming back with a better caption cos right now am still shaking let me calm down first,” an excited Zuchu announced.

Zuchu becomes the first female artiste in East Africa to be nominated for the coveted MTV EMA.

Diamond Platnumz and Sauti Sol have previously won MTV EMA for Best African Act.

Zuchu faces a difficult task of beating other African music heavyweight nominated in the same category with her.

The Sukari hitmaker has been pitted against Nigeria’s Ayra, Tems, Burna Boy, Ghana’s Black Sherif and, South Africa’s Musa Keys.

The EMA awards is an event held annually to honor artists and music in pop culture and is sponsored by Paramount International Networks.

This year’s event will be held in Düsseldorf, Germany on 13 November 2022.
