Gisele Bündchen skipped out on a charity event despite being named on the dinner’s invitation.
The supermodel was a co-leader alongside Salma Hayek, Gloria Steinem and more celebrities at the Kering Foundation’s first-ever Caring for Women dinner Thursday but decided not to show up at the last minute.
“People were disappointed… she was on the invite,” a source tells Page Six.
Another attendee also expressed surprise the model was in New York City but didn’t attend.
Despite Bündchen’s absence, guests were equally surprised to see the model’s ex Leonardo DiCaprio — who was the night’s big celebrity draw.
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel landed in the Big Apple this week with her daughter for New York Fashion Week. She told Elle that she has a “huge list” of things she wants to do, but it appears a charity dinner was not one of them.
Her absence comes as she and Tom Brady grapple with marital issues stemming from his decision to “un-retire” from the NFL. The shocking move prompted an “epic fight” that had Bündchen relocate temporarily to Costa Rica while Brady remained in Florida for football.
Sources now say the model may be going through some kind of crisis about relaunching her career.
“Within the last few years, Gisele has fired her longtime agent at IMG, moved to UTA, then fired them and moved to CAA for just over a year and then recently fired them,” the source told us.
“And even though Gisele is not walking on the catwalk anymore, she wants to stay at the forefront of the fashion industry. If Tom is going back to work, then so can she.”
