CF Montreal have loaned forward Chinonso Offor to Belgian side SV Zulte Waregem until June 2023, the club have announced.
An option for Zulte to buy Offor permanently will become active on January 31, while Montreal can recall the 22-year-old at any time from February 1 onwards as long as the player has not been transferred.
Prior to making the loan move, Offer penned a new contract with Montreal through the 2024 MLS season, with options on two further years.
Montreal only signed Offor in August, paying the Chicago Fire $325k in General Allocation Money (GAM) for his services. The forward is yet to appear for the Canadian club, but did play 42 times for the Fire across all competitions, scoring twice and providing a further two assists.
Prior to arriving in the United States, Offor played his soccer in Latvia for two separate clubs, as well as in Northern Cyprus.
