Barack Obama, Eminem, Adele, Chadwick Boseman emerge winners

On Saturday September 3, 2022, Barack Obama, Eminem, Adele and Chadwick Boseman received Emmy Awards.

For his work on the Netflix documentary series “Our Great National Parks,” Barack Obama received the best narrator Emmy.

The Obamas’ production company, “Higher Ground,” created the five-part show, which highlights national parks from all across the world.

He has two Grammys in addition to the Emmy, putting him halfway toward the EGOT.

The audiobook readings of Barack Obama’s autobiographies “The Audacity of Hope” and “A Promised Land” won him Grammy Awards in the past. In 2020, Michelle Obama received a Grammy for reading her audiobook.

A specific category of entertainers known as EGOT refers to those who have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony. 17 people have achieved it so far.

Barack Obama is the second president to have an Emmy. Dwight D. Eisenhower was given a special Emmy Award in 1956.

While Adele’s was pre-recorded, Eminem’s Outstanding Variety Special Emmy was for the live performance.

Eminem live performance at the Emmy awards

For their Halftime Show performance earlier this year, Eminem, Dr. Dre, and the rest of the SB crew have all now won Emmy awards.

As a result, Eminem is just a T away from EGOT.

Paul Rosenberg, his longtime manager tweeted about it.

Adele also received her first Emmy, putting her one win away from the EGOT.

Adele’s CBS special “One Night Only” received the Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) Emmy. The talented songwriter is now one step closer to becoming an EGOT.

She currently holds an Oscar, multiple Grammys, and an Emmy. Adele only needs one more Tony to complete her collection and join the select group of performers who have won all four awards.

Also honored with an Emmy for his voice work was the late Chadwick Boseman.

The Black Panther actor received the award for “What If…?” from Disney+ and Marvel Studios for best character voiceover.

In the program, Boseman voiced his Black Panther character T’Challa as Star-Lord from “Guardians of the Galaxy” in an alternate reality.

It was one of the last projects for Boseman, who died in 2020 of colon cancer at age 43.
