DVF is looking red hot at 75.
Diane von Furstenberg showed off her summer style on Instagram yesterday, posting a mirror selfie of herself wearing a red one-piece with high-cut legs — and attracting plenty of support for her look.
The legendary fashion designer went makeup-free in the photo, accessorizing with a watch and several beaded bracelets and writing, “Selfie at 75? Trying to own it and 2 hours of daily swimming helps! I know I should smile but I feel stupid smiling at myself! Gratitude.”
Plenty of famous friends praised von Furstenberg’s bathing suit moment, like Andie Macdowell, who wrote “Fabulous” with a fire emoji and Shalom Harlow, who commented with two hearts along with a raised hand emoji.
Filmmaker Ava DuVernay said, “Stunning and sensational” while supermodel Iman added, “Fearless & Beautiful.”
This isn’t the first time the fashion guru has shared a swimsuit selfie; back in January 2021 she shared a similar one-piece look, wearing an emerald green suit that attracted more attention than she bargained for.
“I turned 74, I just came back from a long swim and I had no makeup and my hair was wet, and I just took this selfie because I thought, well pretty good for 74,” she told People. “And I don’t know. It’s not even a good picture. I posted it and it got so viral.”
The “House of DVF” star captioned the snapshot, “Am I crazy to post this ? Own your age ….it’s a proof you have lived ! Love to everyone.”
Von Furstenberg is no stranger to “owning it;” she penned the self-empowerment book “Own It: The Secret to Life” last year, which shares her thoughts on personal and professional growth in an A-Z dictionary-style format.
“You own your imperfections, they become your assets,” she told People following the release of her book. “You own your vulnerability, they become your stride.”
