Besides Buju, Which Other Nigerian Artist Is Overrated?

Buju is one of the hottest guys around and he has been for well over a year now.
The thing about Buju though is, with all the wave and all the heat he has, it’s been a while since he has been able to pull anything impressive on his own.

Okay, sure, he’s not a fluke and it’s not a coincidence that he is one of the most sought-after guys in the industry, but you can attribute all that to the nature of our industry. That doesn’t necessarily mean Buju is really as good as we try to say he is.

Truth be told, Buju is good. But maybe it is time we start to consider that he just might be overrated? People see him on the Next Rated convo and swear that he deserves it more while guys like Ruger and Zinoleesky have consistently put out stuff of their own that has been great.

All Buju has is features. Yet we parade him like the best thing since sliced bread.

Well, I would, for one, say Buju is a little overrated. And, he’s not the only one. There are several other artists in this industry who don’t do as much as people give them credit for?

Some are carried by features (I won’t mention names), while some just drop bad songs and continue to sell them with their name.

The quality of some artist’s music has even continued to decline but they lie and claim what they are doing is “conscious music” like we are all fools.

And the worst part is, people continue to shout their names on rooftops like they’re the ones holding the industry. I know we all know these guys and today is the day that we call them all out.
