The Industry Is Not Against Davido, He Just Needs To Grow Up!

For someone that has been here for ten years, the way Davido moves on social media isn’t encouraging at all.
What’s problematic about his constant social media tantrums is that they are an extension of his lifestyle and the way he actually relates with people.

If nothing else, it is in very poor taste to constantly say things that will isolate the industry at a time when he needs the industry the most. Can Davido take on the whole industry? Why would he even think he can if it comes down to it?

Without the love of the industry that he claims is not being showered him, how far would he have come? What he has currently cannot be bought with money and the thanks the whole industry that elevated him gets is a message of malice? Davido can and should do better.

There’s no doubt about the fact that in the past things a lot of things have happened to his career that seemingly looked like a decline and instead of facing what matters most and working on it; the music, Davido has decided to continue to throw tantrums, complain about the state of the industry, and continue to fuel a rivalry that doesn’t sell anymore.

How It All Started
This all started in 2020 when he posted a picture of himself and WizKid and captioned it “two goats.” Burna Boy took it personally, as he viewed himself as a much bigger artist than Davido. What ensued after was a cross-battle between rival fans that led to Davido deactivating his accounts and going away for months.

When he came, we thought he was coming back to release his album and change his ways. What did OBO do instead? He released “FEM” dissing everyone that seemed to be in his way even going as far as name-dropping Burna Boy (“tell Odogwu say we like to party”).

That song blew up but little did he know that wouldn’t translate into a successful album for him.

Later on, he continued to engage rival fans on social media, and even went ahead to do an interview where he claimed Burna Boy and WizKid were “ganging up” against him. He didn’t need to do that.

Then Wizkid announced the date of his album release, and he placed his own two weeks after Wiz’s. WizKid moved it cause of the EndSARS protests, Davido moved his own two weeks after the new dates. Very petty move for Davido because there was no reason why their releases should clash in that manner.

Unfortunately for him, Wizkid won that round as “Made in Lagos” became the better album of the two and is now up for a Grammy award. Now Davido is all over with the idea in his head that people are just not supporting him anymore.

David Needs To Grow Up
The truth is, with all the “love” in his heart, he’s still like a child, can’t take the heat, wants to play with everyone, and will cry when they don’t include him in their activities. That is not a 001 behavior.

We hate Shatta Wale for doing something like that. The industry hates complaining artists and Davido’s complaints however legit he thinks they are, have only alienated him more from the people he’s trying to get closer to.

Now he needs to grow up, be a man and forget about all these childish ideas, focus on the music or I don’t know how worse it’s going to get for him. It’s just the obvious truth.
