A Twitter user identified as Mark Osuchukwu has expressed his displeasure over the signing of Portable as ambassador by billionaire Obi Cubana for his “Odogwu Bitters”.
You recall, billionaire businessman Obi Cubana recently launched “Odogwu Bitters” and signed raving street singer Portable as its ambassador. According to report, the deal is worth around 50 million naira.
However, this doesn’t sit well with some Igbos as a twitter user, Mark Osuchukwu, an Igbo man, via his twitter account, condemned the signing of Portable.
Expressing his dissatisfaction, he said Obi Cubana could have signed another Igbo instead of Portable, whom he called a drug addict and said is unfit to be the face of the brand, as his product’s ambassador.
He tweeted,
Cubana hapuru onye dika Speed Darlington ghotara ife bu “Odogwu” and rushed to dash Probable 50m for ambassadorship. Igbo people and their reasoning sometimes. “Odogwu” is an Igbo expression that means “A man of great esteem. A distinguished man. A valorous man…”
Tell me how portable fits this. A drug addict who has been caught by security agents stealing has all of a sudden become an ambassador. Someone who needs therapy to tame his hallucinations is the face of an Igbo brand.
MY THOUGHTS:
I don’t see anything wrong with signing of Portable as ambassador by billionaire Obi Cubana for his “Odogwu Bitters”. When it comes to business, religion and ethnicity doesn’t matter.
Whats your take on this guys?
