Nigerian Chef Deo, hailing from Ondo State, is on the verge of breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual as she surpasses the 141-hour mark and aims for an impressive 150-hour cookathon.
Commencing her record attempt on June 30, 2023, in the town of Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, Chef Deo has been tirelessly working in the kitchen, racing against time to achieve her ambitious goal.
A recent video posted on Twitter by Punch Newspapers showcased the unwavering chef, still fervently cooking and striving to meet her target as the clock ticks.
The current world record for the longest cooking marathon is held by Hilda Baci, who achieved a notable feat by cooking for an impressive 93 hours and 11 minutes during her cookathon in May.
Upon completion of her cooking marathon, Chef Deo’s submitted evidence will undergo thorough examination by the Guinness World Records officials.
Should her documentation be verified and deemed worthy by the esteemed organization, she will emerge as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
