“40k last, non-negotiable” – Customer laments as vendor declines his offer to buy roast chicken for 30k

A Facebook conversation between a customer and a resolute chicken vendor has taken the internet by storm.

The leaked chat captures the exchange of words between the two parties, shedding light on the dynamics of pricing and bargaining.

The saga began when the vendor, whose tantalizing image of a roast chicken had tantalized taste buds on her timeline, advertised a special offer for N40,000. Little did she know that her seemingly innocuous post would escalate into a viral sensation.

The customer, who went by the name Thomas, seized the opportunity, expressing his desire to purchase the succulent roast chicken package. However, he was quick to demand a discount, setting off a chain reaction of spirited negotiation.

Thomas justified his request by emphasizing that he was doing the vendor a favor by even considering the purchase at N30,000.

In a move that can only be described as audacious, Thomas subtly implied that the vendor was possibly reliant on her parents, given her age, and therefore, her prices should reflect her supposed dependence.

This comment added fuel to the fire, sparking an even more heated exchange.

Unfazed by Thomas’s audacious approach, the vendor stood her ground. She retorted that her pricing structure was unwavering and based on sound business calculations

See the conversation below,

Customer: I need roasted chicken. I need the one you pined on your timeline but I need discount.

Vendor: It is N40,000 Customer: I see you’re a young lady. Sell it to me at 30 thousand naira after all you have your parents to depend on or do you pay bills?

Vendor: Please, what’s your name and your location?

Customer: My name is Thomas and i’m in Lagos. Send your account details.

Vendor: I’m guessing this is a prank or a joke? My post says 40k for the package not 30k. I can’t sell at that price.

Customer: It’s like you don’t want me to refer you to others. Another thing, you’re rude! I’m offering you a whole 30 thousand naira, you’re turning me down? Do you think it’s easy to make such amount of money let alone spend it on ordinary chicken?
