Senator Dino Melaye, a former federal lawmaker, has lambasted the government of President Muhammadu Buhari over the Abuja-Kaduna train attack that led to the death of Dr. Chinelo, Barr. Tibile and many others.
gathered that Before giving up the ghost, Dr. Chinelo had managed to send out a tweet, “I’m in the train. I’ve been shot. Please pray for me.”
Gunmen suspected to be terrorists bombed the Abuja-Kaduna train between Katari and Rigina axis on Monday night, leaving hundreds of passengers dead in the attack.
Many passengers were said to have been initially kidnapped, including Zamfara State former deputy Governor, Mallam Ibrahim Wakkala Liman, during the deadly attack.
Dr. Chinelo and Tibile were among those who were shot dead, as unascertained number of the passengers also sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of gunshots.
Melaye, who represented Kogi West at the 8th National Assembly tweeted that the sad event
“Points to the level of incompetence and total collapse of leadership capacity and security architecture at all levels.
“We now have a government without governance. I bleed in my heart that innocent souls will just be wasted. Shame on us all.
“After the senseless killing of a young medical doctor in the train terrorist attack, what will government tell our doctors about doctors traveling abroad for greener pasture. God please intervene as we turn into a failed country.
“The tragedy of the Buhari Administration is not found in its monumental failure but complacency. The Government is aimless, directionless, lacks teeth with no moral compass. That is the greatest tragedy of the APC-led Government.
“Rest in Peace Chinelo. May the Almighty grant us the fortitude to bear your loss, and that of all those who lost their lives on the train. And may God heal our land.
“My Kogi brother Barr. Tibile was killed by the satanic characters that attacked the Abuja bound train. Very promising young man with great prospects. So sad….so painful. Rest in peace.”
