Whether they’re headed on a coffee run or hitting the gym, celebrities live in their leggings just like the rest of us.
And while plenty of activewear brands are Hollywood-approved, Year of Ours‘ signature ribbed leggings have become a go-to for stars like Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid.
The female-founded, LA-based brand’s best known for its fan-favorite Football Leggings ($114), which feature an angled high waist and adjustable lace-up detail.
Inspired by traditional football pants and available in colors ranging from classic black and white to neon brights, the midsection-cinching style’s been spotted on Chrissy Teigen, Vanessa Hudgens and Olivia Culpo, to name but a few — so we had to try a few pairs out for ourselves.

“I am pretty picky when it comes to pants, workout ones or otherwise; I’ll only wear high-rise pairs, and if my belly button’s showing, that rise ain’t high enough! These passed that test with flying colors — and speaking of colors, I really liked my navy pair, which read as more like an indigo/denim hue, at least to my eye. I followed the sizing chart on the Year of Ours website while ordering, and the recommended size small fit me perfectly.
“I’m not a big fan of ultra-compressive leggings that feel like a workout to pull on, and found these offered medium-level support while still feeling completely comfortable. I think some people might want something more compressive for high-intensity exercise, but personally, I like it when leggings are comfy enough to sleep in (should the need arise).
“But the real star of the show here is that lace-up waist. I’ve got a pretty small middle compared to my hips, which means that pants, skirts and leggings will often fit in the hip area and gap at the waist. Thanks to the adjustable ties, that wasn’t an issue whatsoever; these leggings fit like a glove.”

“I am obsessed with these leggings. First and foremost, the fit is exceptional. I went with a size small (though I probably could have opted for an extra-small). Still, the length was just right for my 5-foot-tall self. The leggings also aren’t compressing, which makes them stretchy and comfortable for my yoga practice.
“The high rise is another great callout. It allows for a peek of skin when paired with the matching ribbed bralette without being too revealing. And the crisscross tie? Beyond cute!
“Plus, the ribbed material helps hide undergarments — so sayonara, panty lines! And the neon pink color is chic, girly and flirty.”
