The Marlian Boss Is Yet To Deliver A December Hit For Us

The festive season is upon us already, and in fact, some songs are already our favorites to run the season.
First on the list will be Zlatan‘s “Ale Yi” which was first released as a single weeks ago, and as part of Zlatan‘s sophomore, “Resan,” about two weeks ago. The song which has some slang and some provocative lyrics has quickly become the new streets anthem and just like that, Zlatan has one hit that’s gonna be everywhere once we’re deep in the festive season.

But unlike his friend and frequent collaborator, Naira Marley hasn’t been able to put out anything impressive all year.

Naturally, he tried a couple of times and pulled a couple of strings but he hasn’t really been able to do anything worth writing home about. His last two releases, “Drug Test,” and “First Time In America” have not been able to get the attention of fans, and it’s starting to look like the guy can’s make instant hits anymore.

Unlike 2020, when he dropped hits like “Aye,” and “As E Dey Go” in succession, this year has been kind of low-profile for him. Except for that one time, he did “Coming” with Busiswa. “Coming” was a real hit, but there’s only so much an amapiano hit about sex can do. It can buy him time to come up with something more dope, but it certainly can’t keep him relevant into the festive season.

The big question now is, where the hell is Naira Marley?
