Trea Turner, a free agent at season’s end, was acquired by the Los Angeles Dodgers last season at the trade deadline along with Max Scherzer.
The two of them came to Los Angeles together from the Washington Nationals in exchange for a haul of prospects.
Since the Dodgers acquired Turner, they have been a completely different team.
They were already one of baseball’s best and most dominant teams, but when Turner arrived things got even better.
Turner has played 163 games in a Dodgers uniform, and since he joined the team, the Dodgers are 118-45.
That amounts to a crazy winning percentage of .723.

He’s a little older than some of the other premium shortstops, but he’s definitely worth at least $260 million and shouldn’t accept less than $32.5M AAV.

The Trea Turner Effect
The Dodgers got a lot better when Turner joined the team.
He is a free agent at the end of the season and one can imagine that he will be highly sought after by several teams.
The Dodgers certainly have the financial flexibility to keep him.
We could see them really open their pocketbooks to try and keep him around.
They’ve been on another level since he arrived in Los Angeles.
He’s one of the best shortstops in all of baseball and will certainly covet a ton of interest.
Given how good the Dodgers have been since he joined the team, one can expect that they would try to keep him around.
118-45 over a 163-game stretch is impressive.
The Dodgers are already loaded, but keeping Turner around would help them keep their winning ways going as they try to win another championship.
His bat and his glove have provided a spark for this Dodgers team.
If they weren’t already World Series contenders without him, they sure are now.
We’ll see if the Dodgers keep winning with him around and if they’ll try to keep him.
