“Sungba,” “Omo Ope,” “Palazzo,” Or “PBUY” — What’s Asake Best Song So Far?

YBNL’s newest star, Asake, is a talented and unique artist, to say the least.
While what he’s doing is not in any way new to the industry, it’s not exactly the popular thing either. Asake’s style has been described as neo-fuji because of how it sounds like an interpolation of Fuji with Afrobeats.

To be honest, there is no limit to where something that unique can take him. He just needs proper marketing. That plus, hard work, consistency, and doing the right collaborations, of course.

Already, just this year, the singer has charted five songs atop Apple Music Nigeria. That is, none of his singles has failed to become the hottest song in the country. Olamide really got a hitmaker in the one.

The songs don’t even have to sound different for them to hit. For instance, his last hit, “Peace Be Unto You” has exactly the same arrangements as his previous three. That don’t seem to matter, though, because Asake’s the new Starboy in town.

His first hit after signing to Olamide‘s YBNL was “Omo Ope” which featured Baddo himself and showed us exactly just what the guy is capable of.

Then they picked another song from his EP and gave it mad promotion. That was “Sungba,” a song that even got a Burna Boy remix.

Like that wasn’t enough, not long after, DJ Spinall hit him up for a jam co-written by Olamide called “Palazzo.” Also, an instant hit.

Then last week, he pulled up with his latest single since the “Ololade Asake” EP. The new one, “Peace Be Unto You” is the newest hit in town and arguably the best song from the week where Ruger, Wizkid, and others dropped music.

All that, within a space of six months. Asake is sure not playing! One thing all of these songs have in common is that they’re all mad crazy hits. But it’s quite hard to figure out which one of them is his ultimate hit.

Which one of these is his best? Is it the raunchy “Sungba” or the lavish “Omo Ope” or the prayerful “Peace Be Unto You”?

Personally, I think his best song so far is “Omo Ope” with Olamide and it’ll be hard for him to top that. Well, what do y’all think?
