Single mother of one stirs reactions after sharing her experience on buying her son female dresses following his request.
A Twitter user identified as Lenkwe’s mum took to the platform to narrate how her son had been bothering her for female dresses.
Despite feeling concerned about other kids bothering her child, the single mother took the step and got her son the outfits.
In her words, “My son has been asking for a dress. I finally decided to just get him dresses despite being afraid he’d get teased by other kids. Today, the boy next door asked why he was wearing a dress, I said “he wanted one” and he said “okay” then they continued to play. The kids are alright.”
Her claim, however, stirred reactions from social media users; some of which applauded her decision while others condemned her.
“My entire family use to buy me dolls because I asked them too when I was a kid , even my late father would bring them every Friday when he comes back home from work. May sister would help me make more dresses for my dolls. I turned out super fine!” a twitter user wrote.
Another user added, “As if raising kids is not hard enough, one has to pray not to have unraised kids with unfortunate parents like this befriend your kids. He is so unfortunate to have such a mother.”
