Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has finally left Arsenal, joining Barcelona on a free transfer.
Arsenal had earlier cancelled the Gabonese contract, with the player set to enable him to join Barcelona on a permanent deal.
Aubameyang has now signed for Barca as a free agent, according to transfer market expert, Romano Fabrizio.
Barcelona wanted the 32-year-old on loan but the Gunners refused to pay part of the striker’s huge £350,000 a week wages.
Aubameyang was stripped of the Gunners’ captaincy in December following a disciplinary issue and he was later banished from the club.
Arsenal will save around £25m in wages with Aubameyang’s departure.
“Emerick-Aubameyang joins Barcelona, done deal and here we go. Contract agreed and now set to be signed by Aubameyang in Barcelona headquarters. Medical successfully completed. #FCB,” Fabrizio tweeted.
“Arsenal will save his huge salary as they wanted. Deal in place. #AFC #DeadlineDay.”
